twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 472f13260f Updates: a download that breaks is carried on
CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 2m6s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 11s
When the connection breaks during a release download (issue #54), the
device waits up to a minute for Wi-Fi, asks for the rest of the file
with a Range request and carries on: the slot and the hash so far are
kept. It gives up after three tries in a row that bring nothing.
Nothing is kept across a restart.

Carrying on asks for 64 KB free, not 80: between two connections of an
install 78 KB is free, and the first attempt on the device was refused
for that. update damage cut now breaks every connection after n bytes.

Tried on the device: v0.23.0 installed over four connections, and a
download that brought nothing given up with nothing switched.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 c3fd9909a1 Updates: a newer release installs by itself, after a question
CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 2m8s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 11s
With Settings > System > Install updates on By itself (issue #52), a
release found by the daily check is offered once no key was pressed for
2 minutes and nothing would be cut by a restart. The question goes over
whatever App is open, with Cancel and Accept, and installs after 30 s
without an answer. Each update that held, and each one undone, is a
dated line in /system/updates.log on the card.

Tried on the device: the question, Cancel, and an install of v0.23.0
left unanswered.

Tab goes on from the Sky to a third view (issue #16): a rose that turns
with the device, the heading, where north came from and how long ago,
the sun on the rose, and a level. m marks where you stand as a Place,
t picks one as the target: an arrowhead on the rose, its distance and
bearing. The sensor's directions were checked by hand on the device.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 2m22s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 10s
Settings had grown to 21 rows in one list. It opens on five groups (This
device, Display, GNSS and radio, Network, System); Enter opens one, Back
returns to the groups, and Back from the groups leaves Settings.

SettingsMenu holds the groups and which one is open (host-tested: every
setting is in exactly one group). The guide, the how-tos, the README,
the scripts' messages and the firmware's own name the new paths, such as
"Settings > System > Firmware".

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 37335b4829 UI: seven themes, each dark and light, chosen in the Settings
Settings > Theme and Settings > Light or dark pick the colours of every
screen (issue #10): roro9stack (the website's, the default), Catppuccin,
Dracula, Nord, ANSI terminal, Gruvbox and Solarized.

- A palette is 14 roles (lib/ui/src/palette.h). theme::kText and the
others are now references into the one in use, so the Apps are
unchanged; the main loop applies it when a Setting changes.
- Every colour is one the RGB332 frame buffer holds exactly: the themes'
own were rounded, and those that fell together or lost contrast were
picked by hand. test_palette checks exactness and 18 contrast ratios
  for each palette.
- The Sky view's constellation colours come from the theme.
- `theme [0-6] [light|dark]` on the consoles.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 e2326e113b Launcher: a grid of icons, with badges; the list stays as a Setting
The Launcher shows the Apps as a 4 x 3 grid of 32 x 32 icons, the
selected one's name under it (issue #9). The icons are the website's
own, doubled, and two drawn the same way for SSH and the Shell; they
are PNGs in assets/icons, turned into arrays by scripts/make_icons.py,
which CI checks. The selected tile is the website's: dark blue on cyan,
with notched corners.

- GridModel (lib/ui, host-tested) holds the selection and the scrolling.
- App::badge(): a dot on the tile for unread IRC messages, a Track
recording, a Capture running, an SSH session open.
- Settings > Launcher: Grid or List.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 aadfd8cb37 UI: the website's colours, on every screen
The theme takes the website's palette, each a colour the RGB332 frame
buffer holds exactly: cyan for the accent, a selected row and a chosen
button in cyan with dark blue text, a slate Status Bar (the grey it
asked for was shown as a dull olive), the website's orange for
warnings and its pink for messages. "Good" (a Fix, the quietest
channel) keeps a green of its own, which the website doesn't have.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 b1c80c912f SSH App: its messages were cleared the moment they were set
The bottom-line message (a malformed address, not enough memory, a
session still closing) is timed from millis() when a key sets it, and
update() compared that with the pass's own time, read before the keys
were handled. The unsigned difference wrapped, so the message was
cleared before it was ever drawn: Enter on a new connection that was
refused looked like it did nothing.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 2m19s

The MeshCore preset is the default for a new device, in the Settings and
in the radio before the Scanner is opened. The setting now accepts it:
it only took the 7 Meshtastic presets, so MeshCore picked in the App was
not saved.

Messages on MeshCore's public channel are decrypted with the channel's
published key (AES-128, checked with 2 bytes of HMAC-SHA256): the row
shows who says they sent it and the start of the text, the details the
sender, the time and the whole text. Other channels and private messages
stay encrypted.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 6b71aace4f SSH client: a terminal on another machine (#2)
CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 2m22s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 10s
The SSH App opens one session to a shell, over libssh (LibSSH-ESP32 5.10.0)
on mbedTLS. A server is trusted the first time on its fingerprint, and a
changed key is a warning with Cancel selected. The password is typed each
time and kept nowhere; or the device makes itself an Ed25519 key, whose
public half is shown, written to /ssh/id_ed25519.pub and printed by
`ssh status`.

lib/term is the terminal: what a shell, less, top, nano and vim send, with
sixteen colours, scroll regions, the alternate screen and 100 lines of
scrollback. Five text sizes with Ctrl and + or -, from 60x20 to 26x8, told
to the far end. The session goes on when the App is left; SSH shows in the
Status Bar. `ssh user@host` in the Shell opens the App.

Also:
- Keys that aren't characters carry Shift, Ctrl and Alt. The terminal needs
it, and it makes Ctrl+Fn+up/down in a note and Shift+Tab in Gemini work
  from the real keyboard.
- IRC doesn't try to connect under 60 KB free: started with a session open,
its TLS handshake took the heap down to 236 bytes.
- libssh's own curve25519 is left out of the build (scripts/libssh_filter.py):
  libsodium's has the same names.

Costs 292 KB of flash and about 50 KB of heap while a session is open; not
started under 75 KB free.

Docs: guide page, how-to, FAQ, home page, Status Bar, SD card folders, the
memory how-to, README, glossary, N1 notes with Q254 to Q266 and the checks.

The rest of the issue's list. tls makes a handshake that checks nothing,
then says the certificate in words: who it is for, who signed it, until
when, and whether this device's roots and the name asked for accept it,
with the reason when they don't. ntp compares a time server's clock with
the device's. netstat lists what listens and what is connected.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m38s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 11s
Network troubleshooting from the device itself, in the Shell and over both
consoles. ping, nslookup, port and traceroute each run on a task of their
own and print as they go, to the console that asked; one at a time, and
`cancel` stops it. ifconfig and arp answer at once: the interfaces (Wi-Fi
and the VPN), which is the default route, the DNS servers, the neighbours.

nslookup asks a DNS server itself, so it can say which server answered and
in how long, and ask another. A sized ping finds what a tunnel really
carries.

With a how-to, "When the network doesn't work", and the rest of the docs.
tls, ntp and netstat from the issue's list are not in this.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 4404dd9380 VPN: a WireGuard tunnel (#8)
The device joins a WireGuard network over whatever Wi-Fi it is on: one
peer, IPv4. A client's .conf is imported from the card (/vpn/wg0.conf) and
kept in the device's settings, private key included, never shown; Settings
offers to delete the file. A switch brings the tunnel up until the next
restart, "Start with Wi-Fi" every time; it waits for the clock, which a
handshake needs. VPN shows in the Status Bar.

The protocol is esphome/wireguard 0.4.8. It calls lwIP without lwIP's lock,
which this framework checks: every call into it is made with the lock held.

What goes through the tunnel is everything (AllowedIPs 0.0.0.0/0) or the
one subnet the device's tunnel address is in: lwIP routes by an
interface's subnet or by default, nothing finer. The import says how many
ranges it can't reach.

Checked against a test peer in both directions and against a real server,
with a configuration uploaded from a phone (docs/milestones/N1.md).

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m51s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 16s
`w` in the Storage App starts a small HTTP server and shows its address,
as a QR code and in letters, with a six-digit code. A browser on the same
network that has typed the code can list, download, upload, make folders
and delete, under the Storage App's rules. The server runs only while that
screen is open. Nothing is encrypted, and the screen says so.

Uploads are streamed to the card under a temporary name and renamed when
whole. Every access to the card is handed to the storage task, 8 KB at a
time, from the server's own task.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 4cdb4c342f Screenshots: Fn+p on every screen (#83)
CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m44s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 9s
Fn+p saves the screen as it is to /screenshots, as the Shell's `screenshot`
does, from anywhere: text fields, dialogs and the help panel included. The
key never reaches an App.

It refuses on Settings > Debug Console, which shows the token: a picture of
that page is a copy of the token in a file (App::showsSecret). `key shot`
presses it over the consoles.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m56s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 10s
Enter on a picture shows it: shrunk to fit the screen, or at its own size
with Enter again and the arrows to move. Dithered to the screen's 256
colours; a colour the screen has exactly is left alone, so screenshots are
shown as they are.

The picture is decoded once, straight into the screen's buffer, and kept
there (App::retainsContent): no copy in memory. Decoding runs on the
storage task, so the keys keep working and a 12 megapixel photograph
appears as it comes instead of tripping the watchdog.

PNG, BMP and GIF are read by decoders of our own, host-tested against files
made by Pillow; the PNG one needs 32 KB where the display library's needed
44 KB in one block, which the device often doesn't have. JPEG uses the
library's TJpgDec.

Also corrects two sentences that still gave 16 KB as the editing limit.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 de8af6ed92 Notes: edit a text file of any size (#47)
CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m52s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 12s
The editor held the whole note in memory and stopped at 16 KB. It now keeps
a window of the file around the cursor, and the rest on the card as a list
of pieces (notes::NoteDocument). Memory with a note open is what it was.

Up to 64 KB a save rewrites the file, as before. Above, the five-second
save appends what changed to <note>.edit, and the file is rewritten on
leaving the note, with a progress bar. After a power cut, opening the note
picks the edit up where it was saved; a rewrite cut short is finished or
dropped, never half applied.

Also: Ctrl with Fn+Up/Down go to the start and end of the note; the
consoles' `key` command takes ctrl-, alt- and shift-; the Storage App's
`e` no longer refuses a big file.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 0fdbb5b1ed Shell: Tab completes every word of a command, and * and ? stand for several files (#67)
CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m38s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 9s
Tab used to complete a command's first word only. It now follows the help
text word by word: `lora st` gives `lora status`, `gnss track ` lists
`start stop`. The words are read from the help text as written, so a new
command completes with no table to keep; the Shell's own words are added in
the same notation.

`*` and `?` in the last part of a path, for ls, du, rm, cp and mv, from the
Shell and both consoles. The command runs once for each name matched, lined
up and run by the main loop as each finishes; `cancel` empties the line-up.
64 matches at most, refused whole past that. In the Shell, rm with a pattern
asks once, with the count.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m48s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 10s
Past the command's name, Tab completes the word being typed as a path: a
folder keeps its slash to go on from, a file completed whole gets a space,
several candidates are listed. Any case typed, the name's own is taken.
After a file command the first slash is understood (`cat no` is /no).
The folder is read on the storage task, bounded to 400 entries looked at
and 24 candidates.

489 host tests (2 new). Checked on the device: a folder, a file inside it,
several candidates, no slash, another case, nothing matching.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m38s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 10s
The Shell shows the replies to its own commands and nothing else. The
console knows who each line is printed for (Console::As, Console::origin):
a command run from the Shell prints as the Shell's, and what answers it
later from another task carries that along (ls, tasks, du, cp, update
check, sd list, screenshot, gemini get). Ctrl+b shows everything instead.
This replaces the ten-second window, which was a guess.

An App's name with a capital opens it (Notes, Irc, Wifi, Gnss, Gemini, Lora,
Storage, Shell, System, Settings), from the Shell and from the consoles.

rm needs -r for a folder, here and over the consoles. In the Shell a file,
or a folder with something in it, is asked about unless -f; an empty folder
with -r goes without a word.

The Shell now hands its line to the main loop to run: run from inside the
key handler, rm on a folder overflowed the loop's stack and crashed the
device. `info` says which App is in front.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 1m48s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 9s
An App in the Launcher that runs the same commands as USB serial and the
Debug Console, trusted like the first. It shows what the console prints
while it is open, through a second ring of the console's that exists only
meanwhile; Ctrl+b keeps only what follows your own commands. Tab completes
a command's name from the firmware's help text, Fn with up and down recalls
earlier lines, Alt with up and down scrolls back. `rm` asks first in the
Shell, `rm -f` doesn't. Nothing is kept once the App is left.

`screenshot [seconds]` saves the screen as a PNG in /screenshots on the
card, now or after a pause: written a row at a time, indexed colour with
RGB332 as the palette, in one stored deflate block.

487 host tests (11 new: the PNG writer, the Shell's log filter, Tab).
Checked on the device over the Debug Console: commands, Tab, history, a
screenshot fetched and decoded on the PC, rm with and without the question,
a delayed screenshot of another screen. 12 KB of flash; 7 KB of heap while
open. Decisions Q204 to Q212 in docs/milestones/S1.md. Safe Mode: #77.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 7m14s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 8s
Every screen's keys are constant tables in lib/core/src/app_keys.h (52 of
them, each under an `// id: Title` comment). An App's help() picks the table
of the state it is in. site/tools/gen_dev_docs.py reads the same file and
writes site/data/keys.toml; the `keys` shortcode shows a screen's tables on
its guide page, and /guide/keys/ shows all of them.

The Site job fails when the data file is out of date or a page asks for a
table that doesn't exist, and now also runs when app_keys.h changes. A key
added to an App shows up on the website without anyone editing a page.

Fn+h on any screen, text fields included, and ? outside Text Entry, open a
panel over the content area: the screen's own keys, then the ones that work
everywhere. Every App declares its keys for the state it is in (pages,
viewers, dialogs and text fields answer for themselves); the App manager
opens the panel and takes every key while it is open.

About 30 hint lines are gone, from every App. What stays on a screen is
state. The first-start Setup keeps its hints and teaches the key; a device
set up before gets one Toast, once. The guide and the FAQ open with it.

CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 7m10s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 14s
The framework's server begin() fails without a word: the console's task now
asks whether it listens, says so, and tries again. `debug off <seconds>`
closes the console and reopens it after the pause, which is the only way to
test its closing and reopening from afar.

Checked on the device: 25 closings and reopenings, each back a second after
the pause. Free heap dips about 270 bytes for each connection the device
closes and is all back two minutes later (TCP keeps a closed connection that
long): not a leak.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 c68741cc46 One firmware: the Debug Console in every build, off until switched on, with the device's own token
CI / build (pull_request) Successful in 7m20s
Site / build (pull_request) Successful in 9s
There is no Debug Build any more (ADR 0010, issue #68, Q188 to Q195). The
console and the test commands are compiled into every firmware. It listens
only while Settings > Debug Console is on, which isn't the default; off,
neither its task nor its 4 KB ring exists. The token is made by the device
and shown on that page; a client proves it knows it by answering a challenge
with an HMAC, so it never crosses the network, and five wrong answers close
the console for a minute. DBG in the Status Bar while it listens.

Over USB serial only: debug on, debug token <value>, debug token new.
scripts/flash.sh --debug uses them to set a device up with the developer's
token. scripts/rdbg.py takes the token from -t, $RORO_DEBUG_TOKEN or the
file, answers the challenge, and fetches a release's ELF to decode a crash.

Gone: the cardputer-adv-debug environment, RORO_DEBUG, the +debug version,
scripts/debug_flags.py, update install ... force, and the rule that a Debug
Build doesn't install releases. Old clients and old firmwares don't talk to
each other.

Against the builds it replaces: 30 KB more flash and 88 bytes more static
RAM than the release, 4 KB less RAM than the Debug Build. 468 host tests.
Checked on the device: off by default, login, the pause after wrong tokens,
Safe Mode with the console, the setting surviving an update, debug off.

twislaandClaude Sonnet 5.5 4ef41347ab Updates from Gitea, step 4: the Firmware page shows the project's releases
Latest release (checked on Enter, or c), Older releases (the last ten,
newest first), a release page with the tag's message, and an install
dialog; going back to an older release asks differently. A failed check
someone asked for shows a Toast. A Debug Build shows the latest release
and says it can't install it: it would take its console away.

Tried on the device: a check, the list, the release page, the dialog
(Cancel is the default; Back cancels), and the install from the screen
with its progress screen, then the restart into the release build and its
confirmation.

twislaandClaude Sonnet 5.5 510ce42a99 Updates from Gitea, step 3: install from Gitea, and IRC steps aside for it
A release downloads straight into the inactive slot through the existing
install path: the signature is checked after 160 bytes, before anything
is written, the hash at the end. Tried on the device against the real
server: a download cut short, a flipped byte in the signature and one in
the image are each refused with the running firmware untouched; the real
v0.10.0 installed, restarted, and confirmed itself on Probation.

A TLS connection to Gitea peaks at about 52 KB of heap whether or not the
certificate is verified. With IRC connected (66 KB free) a check left 3 KB
and a download 836 bytes. A check, list or install a person asks for now
makes IRC step aside (holdForUpdate) and come back after: the lowest free
heap during a full download with IRC connected is 38 KB. The daily check
never interrupts IRC; with IRC up it waits. A TLS connection starts with
80 KB free (it was 55).

Debug Builds get test knobs: update probe <host>, update damage cut|flip,
update pretend <version>.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 e8a654a15f Notes: plain text notes on the SD card, with an editor that saves by itself (#19)
The Notes App lists the files of /notes by their first line, newest first:
n starts a note, Enter opens it, r renames its file, d deletes it after
asking, s sorts by name. A new note's file is named after its first line.

The editor wraps at spaces, 38 columns by 8 rows; Fn+arrows move through
the wrapped text, Ctrl+A and Ctrl+E go to the ends of the line. There is no
save key: the note is written five seconds after the last key, on Back, on
leaving the App, when the screen turns off and before the device powers
off. A save writes a temporary file and puts it in the note's place; a save
cut short is put back, or offered, the next time.

A note is up to 16 KB, held in one buffer reserved when it's opened: the
file is read straight into it and typing never makes it grow. A failed
allocation aborts on this device, and with IRC connected the largest free
block is about 31 KB: a first version that copied the note once on loading
restarted the device when a full note was opened with IRC connected.
Editing files of any size is #47.

The Storage App's text viewer gets `e`, which edits a text file up to 16 KB
with the same editor unless the file is read-only.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 e14eb304b5 Wi-Fi: SNTP could be started twice at a join, and ESP-IDF asserts on that
At every join the DNS and NTP setup ran twice in the same pass: the
"check now and then" timer compared this pass's time with a stamp taken
from millis() a moment later, and the unsigned difference underflowed.
Starting SNTP is only queued for the network task, so when the second run
looked before the first had been carried out, it queued a second start:
"Operating mode must not be set while SNTP client is running", a panic
nine seconds after boot. Rare (once in the dozen or so boots of this
branch's testing), there since v0.7.0. Rollback caught it: the update
was on Probation and the device went back to the build before.

The service now remembers that it started SNTP instead of asking
esp_sntp_enabled(), and the timer compares signed.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 b7aed8e91c F1 steps 2-6: the Storage App, its viewers, and Maintenance moved in (#3)
The Storage App browses the SD card: folders first with sizes and dates,
three sorts, one item at a time with a clipboard (c, x, v), rename, delete
after counting what's inside, new folder, details. A listing holds 256
entries and says when a folder has more.

FileOps does the card's work for the App and the console alike, one
operation at a time on the storage task in turns of about 150 ms, so Logs
and Captures are still written during a long copy. A copy shows progress,
can be cancelled (what it wrote is taken back) and compares sizes after.
The read-only rules are checked there: the firmware's top-level folders,
/gemini/cache, and files being written (a Track, a Capture, an upload,
today's IRC Logs). A listing reads the folder straight from FatFs: through
the Arduino File, 329 entries took over two seconds.

Viewers by type: text read a screen at a time whatever the file's size
(logs open at the end), a hex dump, a Capture's packets as the LoRa Scanner
lists them, a Track's summary, and an Update File checked as an install
would check it, without writing anything. Tab shows any file as hex or text.

Settings > Storage is gone: usage, Storage Clean-up and Erase are the App's
Maintenance, behind a warning. The Storage Warning points there.

The Clock sets the system time whatever its source, so files are dated
correctly with a GNSS Fix alone (Q137).

Console: cp, mv, mkdir, du, cancel; rm takes folders and follows the rules;
ls shows dates; Debug Builds get `sd fill`.

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 70fb37ebb5 The radio's noise: the GNSS receiver costs 8 dB; a setting pauses it (#20)
Debug Builds: `lora noise test` changes one thing at a time, Sweeps the
band, and reports the floor under each condition; it runs on the device
by itself, since one condition pauses Wi-Fi (not saved, so a restart
brings it back). Result, at 125 kHz: -117 dBm with the antenna switched
off, -106 with the GNSS receiver in standby, -98 with it running. The
receiver's serial line isn't it (one sentence a second changes nothing),
and neither are the main loop, the CPU frequency, Wi-Fi, the screen or
the radio's own regulator, all within 1 dB.

Settings > "Pause GNSS for LoRa", off by default: the receiver waits in
standby while the radio listens or sweeps, except during a Track, and
has a Fix again about 7 s after. The GNSS App says it's paused.

11 dB remain between the antenna with GNSS quiet and the chip alone,
untouched by anything that can be switched from the firmware.

It made 50,000 passes a second and kept core 1 100 % busy at rest. Keys
are buffered by the keyboard controller, the consoles and the radio have
their own tasks, and no Service ticks more often than every 50 ms, so
the loop now rests 5 ms after a pass with the screen on and 20 ms with
it off; never during a serial file transfer. Safe Mode's loop too.

Screen off: 50 passes a second and core 1 at 1 %; screen on: 167 and
10 %. The chip settles 4 C cooler (34.3 against 38.3). GNSS, Gemini, an
upload, the Sweep and the radio's interrupt all checked at the new pace.

Five views, Tab between them: Overview (each core's load, memory,
traffic, battery, two minutes of load), Tasks (share of a core over the
last second, lowest free stack, flagged under 512 bytes; `s` sorts),
Memory (free heap against the floors of Q86), Network (bytes per
service, and what's moving now), System (what `info` prints, plus
battery, card, radio, GNSS). It samples once a second and keeps history
only while open.

The arithmetic is host-tested, including the trap found on the device: a
task's run-time counter only moves when it's switched out, so the task
that samples (the main loop, alone on its core) gets what's left of its
core. `tasks` now samples across a second of normal running instead of
inside its own wait. The main loop uses 100 % of core 1 at rest (#40).

A Counted<> wrapper around the network clients adds what goes through

Enter on a Saved Network opens its page instead of asking to forget it:
"IP address" switches between Automatic and Fixed, with an address, a
prefix and an optional gateway. Fixed starts from what the network is
giving the device; the draft is checked and applied on leaving the page,
so a half-typed address is never used. "DNS and NTP" holds the two DNS
servers, "Always use my DNS" and the two NTP servers. Enter on Status
shows the connection's details and where each value came from. Address
fields take digits and dots only; refusals show as Toasts.

Checked on the device through the screens: Fixed 10.39.39.13 applied and

twislaandClaude Opus 5.5 3e279738b6 S1 #7 step 3: the Wi-Fi Service applies IP, DNS and NTP settings
Joining a Saved Network uses its Fixed address, mask and gateway, or
DHCP. DNS comes from Settings on Fixed networks and when "Always use my
DNS" is on; NTP servers come from Settings, after any that DHCP offered.
Both are re-checked every 30 s, since a DHCP renewal puts DHCP's DNS back
and clears the NTP slots it didn't fill. `wifi status` shows what's in
use, where it came from, and which NTP servers answered; `wifi ip`,
`wifi dns`, `wifi ntp`. Debug Builds: `wifi ip ... try <s>` reverts
unless kept.

On knbg-guests (10.39.39.0/24, gateway .1): Fixed .12 and .13 both reach
the internet through 9.9.9.9; a wrong gateway on trial cut the device off
and came back by itself; back to DHCP; both NTP servers answer.

The card "refused" a write about once in 2,000 multi-block writes: three
1.7 MB uploads in ten. Measured with a driver that records where it gives
up: every time, all blocks were accepted, and the status check after Stop
Tran came back as 0xFF or 0x1F. The driver tests for ready with the first
byte after selecting the card, which reads 0xFF before the card has
signalled busy, so CMD13 went out mid-programming. A dummy byte first, as
in ChaN's reference driver, and one after Stop Tran.

30 uploads in a row since, each read back by SHA-256, ten with the radio

One task owns the SX1262 and does all its SPI behind the card's bus lock;
the main loop posts requests and DIO1 only wakes the task. It listens
while a client asks (App, Capture, Console) and sleeps otherwise, with a

Found by M3's shared-bus test: when the card refused a write, the retry
closed the file (losing up to 3 KB of earlier chunks still in the write

on the card. Now a retry gives up if the card lost data, and the finished
